The 6-foot-2, 215-pound five-star out of Grayson High School (GA) is widely regarded as one of the most complete defenders in the nation. With elite range, physicality, and football IQ, Atkinson has been a top target for powerhouse programs across the country.
Texas has remained a strong contender, especially after Atkinson spent over a month living in Austin this summer. While there, he trained with former Longhorn All-American Derrick Johnson, building strong ties to the program.
Adding to the intrigue, Atkinson has recently posted on Twitter, hinting that a decision day could be coming soon. While no official date has been announced, all signs point to a commitment potentially happening in the near future.
