Five-star WR Jaime Ffrench commits to Texas
The Longhorns secured commitments from two five-stars in the month of August. Today, they made it three. 2025 Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench committed to Texas on Friday, choosing the Longhorns over Miami, Tennessee, and LSU.

The 6-foot-1, 184-pound Sunshine State stud had major offers from programs like LSU, Miami, Ohio State, Florida State, Tennessee, and Alabama. Ffrench was formerly committed to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Once Saban retired, Ffrench backed away from his pledge and the Longhorns ramped up their pursuit, eventually landing the Jacksonville standout.
He chose August 30th to honor his mother’s birthday.
Credit to Steve Sarkisian and Chris Jackson, who did a tremendous job with the out-of-state prospect. In April, IT wrote about how his unofficial visit to Texas that weekend was pivotal in UT’s chances. Ultimately, it was the foundation for this commitment.
Ffrench joins Garland (Texas) Sachse five-star WR Kaliq Lockett in UT’s 2025 class. He is the No. 18 overall prospect, the No. 3 wide receiver, and the No. 3 prospect in Florida according to the On3 Industry Ranking for the Class of 2025.

Excerpt from the Recruiting Notebook:
Ffrench is a really smooth athlete at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. He has terrific body control and ball skills which when combined with the smaller stature of high school players, often makes him look pretty big on his highlights. His track times suggest he’s not a burner but he’s so economical in his route running and cuts on the field that he ends up looking awfully fast. Ffrench makes a lot of sense as a boundary receiver who can reliably get open at the chains, make contested catches down the field, and be a high volume target outside. – Ian Boyd

On3 Scouting Report
Savvy, productive receiver who offers scheme versatility and a well-rounded skill set. Measured at 6-foot-0 ⅞,, 184 pounds with 32-inch arms and 9.5-inch hands at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season. Lines up in the slot and out wide for his high school. Notched 62 catches for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns on a state finalist as a junior. Shows wiggle off the line of scrimmage. Adept at attacking the intermediate area of the field. Lethal on back shoulder fades. Has high level body control and is able to twist his body in air while high-pointing the ball. Shows flashes of high-end ball skills, making one-handed grabs in camps and 7-on-7’s. Tests as a solid athlete in the combine setting. Can improve initial burst and play speed. Will need to clean up drops as he can lose focus and catch with improper hand placement at times. Will need to make strides athletically and with consistency to be a true number one wideout long-term, but has a translatable skill set with his ability to attack the intermediate area and should be considered a high floor prospect as a possession target.
