Dubose, a 6-foot-0, 169-pounder, committed to Texas over Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, UNLV, UTSA, and Utah.

Ultimately why Texas?

“First and foremost, man, that coaching staff is something different,” Dubose told Inside Texas. “They’re real about what they say and being able to play under Chris Jackson with all the experience he has had before, it put me in a good position to know that he can help me even more (with) trying to achieve my goal of going to the league, developing me to be the best I can be on and off the field at all times as a man and a player. And as they say, it’s a 40-year decision, not a four-year decision. I feel like Texas is everywhere and when football comes to an end, I know Texas’ family will take care of me for the rest of my life.”
