Freshman status and expectations on the Texas defensive line
Fifteen of the staff’s 28 signees in the 2022 class were trench players. That’s sound management in a first class, especially for a program that hasn’t had consistently good offensive line play since about the time players in this class were born. Though I like the D-line class, I look at it quite differently than the O-line haul. The key difference to me is the floor across the board on the offensive line is high, and then certain players have very high ceilings. On the defensive line, many of the most talented players have the furthest to go from a developmental standpoint. Both Pete Kwiatkowski and Bo Davis have very strong reputations for development. We’re going to have a front row seat to their ability with the players below taking center stage.
