Game Preview: NET Rankings are here, and the Longhorns have work to do

The Texas Longhorns are ranked No. 57 entering their road test against the NC State Wolfpack, and their trip to Raleigh gives Rodney Terry‘s team a chance to gain what is at this stage is likely a Quadrant 2 win.
The Longhorns are currently 6-1 with their sole loss on opening night versus Ohio State. The NCAA has not sorted individual games into quadrants quite yet, but Ohio State is likely to remain a Quadrant 1 game for quite some time.

Outside of the loss to the Buckeyes, Texas has not yet played a game considered to be Quadrant 2 or better. They’ll likely play two in the next two games, starting tonight against NC State then on Sunday versus Connecticut.
Here’s a look at the NET rankings among SEC teams. The Longhorns will start conference play on January 4.
