Texas' Timmy Allen earns NABC All-District honors
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas senior Timmy Allen has been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 8 Second Team, the NABC announced Tuesday morning. District 8 of the NABC includes all 10 institutions of the Big 12 Conference.
Allen is joined on the five-person second team by Christian Braun (Kansas), Adam Flagler (Baylor), Mike Miles Jr. (TCU) and Taz Sherman (West Virginia). The NABC has 24 total districts in Division I, and an all-district first and second team for each district is selected by NABC-member head coaches.

Allen leads the team in scoring (12.3 ppg), rebounding (6.5 rpg) and steals (40) and ranks second in assists (67) and third in minutes (29.2 mpg). He has converted 50.5-percent (145-287) from the floor and 73-percent (100-137) from the free throw line this year. Allen has reached double figures in scoring 21 times and reached double digits in rebounds three times this season.
No. 25/25 Texas (21-11, 10-8 Big 12), the No. 6 seed in the East Region, faces No. 11 seed Virginia Tech in the NCAA First Round on Friday, March 18. Tip is set for approximately 3:30 p.m. Central at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, and the game will be televised nationally by TBS. (via Texas release)
