The Klein (Texas) Cain four-star took over for CJ Baxter after suffering an injury during fall camp. In today’s 31-12 win over No. 10 Michigan, Blue notched 59 total yards on 15 touches (five rushing, five receiving). But he was clearly hurt and seen with a walking boot in the postgame media scrum.
“I just got rolled up a little bit,” Blue told Inside Texas after the game. “I’ll be alright.”
FOX’s Jenny Taft had an update on Blue in the second quarter.
“Texas has continued to play without running back Jaydon Blue right now,” Taft said. “He is currently on the sideline. They have re-taped his right ankle. He has been in and out of the medical tent, he ran up to the locker room at one point. Right now, he is trying to make sure his body is available. Texas doesn’t want to provide a yea or nay, but right now, he’s trying to stay in it. He wants to be a factor in this one.”
Blue actually returned during the Horns’ final drive of the half. Blue carried the ball 11 times for 57 yards in a 52-0 win over Colorado State last week.
