Texas fell short in their Alamo Bowl matchup with the Washington Huskies, as Michael Penix completed a 32-of-54 game with two touchdowns. The Husky rushing game, led by Wayne Taulapapa, rushed for 158 yards and a score in Washington’s 27-20 win.

Quinn Ewers was 31-of-47 for 369 yards and a touchdown, a 34 yard pass to Jonathon Brooks.
The Huskies took a 13-3 lead into halftime thanks to a 16-of-30, 139-yard opening 30 minutes from Michael Penix Jr. The potent Washington offense is usually led by its passing attack, but the half’s only touchdown was scored on a 42-yard run by Wayne Tualapapa. Jack McCallister hit two field goals, while Texas’ only score was a Bert Auburn triple.
Jerrin Thompson intercepted Penix Jr. on the game’s opening drive.
