Milton, originally rated as a three-star prospect from the class of 2017, joined the Iowa State program via Bradenton (Fla.) Manatee.
“I’d like to thank all of the college programs and coaches who have reached out to me during my time in the portal,” Milton wrote in his commitment tweet. “I’ve discussed and prayed over my decision with my family, and I’m excited for this next chapter. I’m grateful and honored to continue my graduate studies, and finish my collegiate football career at the University of Texas.”
“Thank you to Coach Sarkisian, Coach (Jeff) Banks, and Coach (Brennan) Marion for believing in my ability, talent, and character. To the Longhorn administration, students, alumni, and fans… HOOK ‘EM!”
The 5-foot-10, 195-pounder with 4.38 speed battled injuries during his last two seasons at Iowa State before eventually entering the transfer portal on November 29, 2021.
Milton put up 1,519 career receiving yards in Ames, hauling in seven touchdowns. Milton had a career season during his sophomore year in 2019, catching 35 balls for 722 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 20.6 yards per catch. He matched his touchdown total in 2021, albeit with 20 fewer receptions.

Milton is the third addition to the Texas wide receiver via the transfer portal this offseason, joining Wyoming transfer Isaiah Neyor and Alabama transfer Agiye Hall. After losing Dajon Harrison, Marcus Washington, and Kelvontay Dixon to the portal prior to May 1, Sarkisian saw the need to replenish Marion’s position group via the transfer portal.
Neyor was first, arriving in time for spring football. When Hall left the Alabama program, Texas quickly became his primary suitor. Before Milton was able to join the Longhorns, Sarkisian, Marion, and seemingly the whole program pursued Pitt wide receiver and 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison to be the third piece added to the receiver corps in the offseason.
Despite the pre-existing connection with Marion from Pitt, Addison elected to join the USC Trojans. Still looking for one more at the position, Sarkisian and company quickly leveraged a previously-built relationship with the former Cyclone standout to gain another valuable player for the 2022 season.
Milton is the sixth transfer to join the Longhorns ahead of the 2022 season along with Hall, Neyor, Quinn Ewers, Ryan Watts, and Jahleel Billingsley.
