The two discuss Quinn Ewers’ status and how he might be utilized in the Longhorns’ game versus the Aggies. He’s looked good in practice per Nahlin but at the same time he’s been hobbled by an ankle injury suffered versus Kentucky. Ewers has been listed as probable on the SEC injury report, indicating he’s going to give it a go. More insider details can be found here.
Nahlin then explains how the Longhorns have prepared for the emotions of this game, with Steve Sarkisian emphasizing his usual “play with emotion, but not emotional” mantra. There’s a lot of familiarity between the players in each program even if the two teams haven’t played in 13 years.

The last look is at the stakes of the game. This is a SEC Championship semi-final of sorts as the winner will head to Atlanta to face the Georgia Bulldogs. Those implications make this a much bigger game than the last time the two teams played, and provides the Longhorns with an additional goal of exacting revenge for their only loss.
