ITYT: Quinn Ewers speaks with local media at SEC Media Days

Inside Texas is on location at SEC Media Days in Dallas, and the Longhorns spent a few minutes with the local media to preview Texas’ debut season in the Southeastern Conference. Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers spoke with reporters ahead of his time with the national media and hit on a variety of topics.

Quinn Ewers discussed the primary differences between SEC and Big 12 defenses, highlighting the overall talent and fewer teams using the 3-3-5 scheme in the SEC. Ewers talked about his efforts to build chemistry with new receivers, including spending time with them outside of practice. The Longhorn starter dived into Isaiah Bond’s abilities, including his speed, route running, and commitment to football, before talking about being in the conversation for the Heisman Trophy and so much more.

He also spoke about other leaders in the program like Jahdae Barron, the return of the Texas A&M rivalry on November 30 in College Station, how building rapport with new receivers like Silas Bolden and Ryan Wingo can be a challenge, and how he wants to aim for a title in a year he specifically returned to Texas for.
