Cole comes to Texas from San Jose State, where he tallied 38 tackles with 3.0 for loss, one sack, and three interceptions. He also was credited with 13 passes defended. Cole spent one season with the Spartans after he transferred to SJSU from Cal Poly. He enrolls at Texas this week.
“This is Texas football we’re talking about,” Cole said. “Getting a degree from Texas is something you can actually brag about. You’re getting a degree from one of the greatest colleges of all colleges in the country. Talking football, 11 draft picks in the last year. Texas can produce. Not saying any other school can’t produce, but if you want to play on the big stage I feel like Texas is one of those places where it can be done. You’re practicing against the best of the best every day in practice. It’s preparing you for the game. I feel like that’s one of the ways that you can be prepared for the league.”
