Malik Muhammad had a standout freshman year at Texas, demonstrating strong mental and athletic abilities. His understanding of coverages and leverage shows he’s ready to compete.

In a play against Rice, Muhammad excels in cover two defense. He uses catch technique to reroute the receiver, showcasing his intelligence and teamwork by protecting his teammates and preventing the first down.

Against Oklahoma State, Muhammad demonstrates perfect press man technique. His stance, leverage, and hand placement are textbook, preventing the receiver from making a play and stopping a crucial third down.

Muhammad’s understanding of defensive schemes is highlighted in his ability to switch responsibilities and communicate effectively with his teammates, ensuring no breakdowns in coverage.

In a play against Texas Tech, Muhammad makes an impressive interception against a much taller receiver. His ability to track the ball, use his athleticism, and fight for possession shows his elite potential.

Looking forward, coaches expect Muhammad to demonstrate more consistency in his sophomore year. They will test his ability to handle more responsibilities and maintain his high level of play.
