Pope was the third-leading scorer for the 2024-25 Longhorns at 11.0 points per game. He started 32 of the Longhorns 35 games, adding 1.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds. He shot 44 percent from the field, 36 percent from three, and 88 percent at the free throw line.
Pope’s standout performance in 2024-25 was a 42-point explosion versus New Orleans. He was 15-for-21 from the field, 8-for-12 from three, and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. His 42 points was a Moody Center record and just the eighth game in UT history where a player dropped 40 or more.
In 99 career games, Pope averages 13.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists on 44 percent shooting.

Pope was often miscast as a point guard after spending most of his first two seasons at Oregon State as a scoring threat. With his return, he still provides the Longhorns with a scoring option though he might find a different role on the 2025-26 team.
The roster now features Xavier transfer Dailyn Swain, plus returners in Tramon Mark, Nic Codie, Jamie Vinson, Malik Presley, Preston Clark, John Clark, and Anthon McDermott.

The Longhorns roster building-process continues, but the amount of players returning for the 2025-26 season for Miller provide experience and a sense of continuity that the first-year head coach hopes to unlock in the Moody Center during his opening campaign.
