K.J. Lacey named one of On3's top performers at day two of the Elite 11 Finals
2025 Saraland (Ala.) quarterback and Texas commit K.J. Lacey failed to earn top-11 recognition from On3 for his day one performance at the Elite 11. That changed on Wednesday night when Lacey put together a strong showing to earn the No. 9 place in On3’s Charles Power’s eyes for his day two performance.

Here’s more of what Power had to say about Lacey.
9. K.J. Lacey – Texas
K.J. Lacey was accurate during his pro day at the Elite 11 Finals. The Texas pledge threw clean, catchable passes and had some of the better footwork we saw over the course of the night. Lacey did a nice job getting the ball out in a timely manner and was able to adjust the location of his passes to the varying speeds of the wide receiver group. The 5-foot-10.5, 180-pounder needed put his whole body into downfield passes, but was largely able to deliver well thrown footballs. The Texas pledge looks to have the skill set of a distributor who is at his best in working the short and intermediate areas of the field.
Other updates from Day 2
5:57 p.m. PT: Alex Manske impressed during JT O’Sullivan’s QB school session, which was a look at dissecting high-level coverages. He was asking a ton of questions. Texas commit K.J. Lacey has impressed the staff with his engagement, takes great notes, asks great questions. And Notre Dame pledge Deuce Knight was the same way, they said. Recognizes what he doesn’t know and wants to know it.
9:00 p.m. PT: Texas commit K.J. Lacey puts together a nice performance, also hitting 16/20 on target. Showed some good footwork. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Elite 11 ranked Lacey as the No. 4 QB after Day 1
Though the On3 and the other networks there have their own opinions, Elite 11 is the one that creates the rankings. After Tuesday night’s outing that featured drills and the railshot challenge, Lacey was ranked as the No. 4 quarterback at the event.
Rankings were released at 10 a.m., so the standings after day two should arrive early in the a.m.

Thursday is the final day of the event, and it includes 7-on-7. A number of top Longhorns targets in the 2025 class, including Jaime Ffrench, are in Los Angeles for the quarterback-centered event.
