K-State transfer Arthur Kaluma commits to Texas, filling the last available scholarship
The final piece of the puzzle for the 2024-25 Texas Longhorns is here. Kansas State forward Arthur Kaluma, a 6-foot-7, 225-pounder originally from Glendale (Ariz.) Dream City Christian, has committed to Texas. Kaluma, who played for Creighton prior to his time with the Wildcats, chose Texas over SMU.

Last year, Kaluma was an All-Big 12 honorable mention with K-State. In 33 games, Kaluma averaged 14.4 points and 7.0 rebounds on 43 percent shooting from the field, 35 percent from three, and 75 percent from the line. He started 32 contests and averaged 34.5 minutes per game with K-State, who missed the NCAA Tournament and was eliminated in the first round of the NIT by Iowa.
Before his time at Kansas State, Kaluma played two seasons for the Creighton Bluejays. On Creighton’s run to the 2023 Elite Eight, Kaluma averaged 11.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. He shot 42 percent from the field, 31 percent from three, and 74 percent from the line on a team that finished third in the Big East. Kaluma was on the Bluejay team that traveled to Texas on December 1, 2022. In a loss to the Longhorns, Kaluma scored 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting.
His freshman season, Kaluma started in 30 games and appeared in 31 for Creighton. He averaged 10.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. He was a 44 percent shooter from the field but only 27 percent from three. He was 67 percent from the line.
Kaluma fills the final available scholarship on the roster and joins Tramon Mark, Jayson Kent, Malik Presley, and Devon Pryor on the wing.
