Ross, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound redshirt freshman from Houston (Texas) North Shore, has been injured for much of the 2023 campaign. He recorded one tackle versus Rice, then played versus Alabama and Wyoming before suffering an elbow injury versus the Cowboys. He appeared in one game during the 2022 season, recording two tackles in the Longhorns’ win over Louisiana Monroe.
Ross has not played since the Wyoming game. Ross was not in the transfer portal at the time of publication, per an Inside Texas source. Players are able to enter the portal at any time, but any non-graduate transfer who enters outside the window is not afforded the same immediate eligibility upon finding their new destination as players who enter the portal during the window.
