Latest on Quinn Ewers and others from Thursday's Texas football injury report

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was listed as questionable on the SEC Student-Athlete Availability Report, better known as an injury report, on Thursday via the SEC’s website.

Ewers, who was listed as questionable on Wednesday, will have his status for Saturday’s game against Mississippi State announced on Friday, per Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian.

“We’re going to decide on the quarterback thing tomorrow,” Sarkisian said Thursday. “It won’t be a secret. We’re not trying to pull the wool over anybody’s eyes. Just want to give Quinn every opportunity to see if he’s ready to play and what he looks like. I’d say he’s improved every day. I think Arch has had a very good week.”

Running back Velton Gardner, who was listed as out on Wednesday, was listed out.

Defensive back Derek Williams was described as doubtful on Wednesday. On Thursday, his status was also out.

Walk-on running back Colin Page was also announced as doubtful on Wednesday. Thursday’s injury report shows he’s now out for Saturday.

Texas wide receiver Deandre Moore was listed as questionable on Wednesday and Thursday’s report.

After being listed as questionable on Wednesday, defensive back Jelani McDonald‘s status on Thursday was probable

Running back Quintrevion Wisner, also a questionable listing from Wednesday, was probable on Thursday.

NEW NAME

Barryn Sorrell is listed as probable. He wasn’t listed on yesterday’s initial report.

OUT – SEASON

CJ Baxter was listed as out. His status will look like that on every injury report for the rest of the season after his knee injury suffered in preseason camp.

Christian Clark was also listed as out. His status also will be the same on every injury report after an Achilles injury suffered in the preseason.

Texas battles Mississippi State on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. Central at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
