LIVE UPDATES: No. 3 Texas battles Baylor in Waco in a primetime matchup

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns head to Waco to face the Baylor Bears for the 113th and potentially final time in the foreseeable future. Texas enters the game 3-0, while Baylor is 1-2 with a win over Long Island and losses to Texas State and Utah.

The game will be televised on ABC with kickoff at 6:30 p.m.
Fourth Quarter
15:00 – Justice Finkley records a sack to end the drive.
14:54 – A few nice runs and a pass to Adonai Mitchell records a first down near midfield for Texas. A big pass play to Helm picks up another first down inside the Bear 30. Brooks then takes it inside the Bear 10 to make it first and goal. On 3rd and goal from the three, Brooks is stuffed. On fourth and goal, Texas is flagged and the field goal unit comes on. Auburn’s attempt goes off the upright.
9:28 – RJ Martinez enters at QB for the Bears. On 3rd and 8, Martinez scrambles but is ruled short of the line to gain. Baylor picks up the first down with a run up the middle. Baylor moves the ball down the field with Martinez some with a number of second-stringers in the game for the Longhorn defense. A fourth down effort is unsuccessful.
5:40 – Maalik Murphy enters the game at quarterback. Jaydon Blue carries the ball and picks up a handful of first downs. Texas faces a 3rd-and-5 but Murphy’s pass intended for DeAndre Moore falls incomplete.
3:01 – Baylor picks up a chunk play on a pass from Martinez to Armani Winfield to move near midfield. With under a minute left, Baylor looks for the end zone from the 37 but comes up short. On the last play of the game, a pass falls incomplete. 38-6 Texas
Third Quarter
14:55 – Texas starts at the 26 after Whittington fields a short kick. Ewers finds Sanders on a RPO and No. 0 hauls it in with one hand for a 49 yard gain. The drive stalls after that point. Bert Auburn hits a 37-yard field goal to make it 31-6. 31-6 Texas 12:24
12:24 – Robertson completes a 55-yard pass to Baldwin that appears to have been bobbled but Baylor runs up to the line and snaps it before Steve Sarkisian can call a timeout or review can stop play. Texas makes a third down stand, then Jaylan Ford intercepts Robertson on 4th-and-goal.
9:04 – Texas starts on the four. On 3rd and 14, Ewers finds Johntay Cook for a 51-yard reception. Brooks then runs for a first down. Worthy then catches a 21-yard pass for a score. 38-6 Texas 5:36
5:31 – Baylor brings the ball out and is stopped at the 17 by a big hit from Tre Wisner. On 3rd-and-2, a well-executed pick play earns Baylor a first down. However, the drive stalls thanks to Anthony Hill. Whittington muffs the punt again and Baylor takes over on the 19.
2:40 – Baylor moves the sticks to make it 1st and goal. Robertson is sacked on the final play of the quarter. 38-6 Texas
Second Quarter
15:00 – CJ Baxter records his second carry of the game to start the quarter. Ewers has a 3rd-and-3 pass attempt batted down at the line of scrimmage by Gabe Hall. Ryan Sanborn punts and it goes out of bounds at the Baylor 23.
14:05 – Robertson finds Monaray Baldwin on first down for a first down to near midfield. On 3rd-and-18, a short pass attempt falls incomplete and the Bears have to punt.
12:35 – Texas starts on the 25, but Ewers is sacked on the first play of the drive. He finds AD Mitchell on the first play after the sack for a big gain, and Ewers hits Jordan Whittington to move into Baylor territory. Another short pass from Ewers to Sanders nets the first. From the 29-yard line, Ewers scrambles left on 3rd-and-9 and finds the end zone. 14-3 Texas 9:07
9:07 – Baylor goes three-and-out. Worthy returns it from the 18 to the Baylor 42. Worthy then completes a pass to Sanders inside the 10. Baxter then rushes it in from seven yards out for his first career score. 21-3 Texas 7:03.
7:03 – Baylor picks up a 3rd-and-10 conversion on a crossing route. The Bears get close on 3rd-and-5 but come up short. A 4th-and-2 effort is also short, stuffed by T’Vondre Sweat.
4:15 – Gunnar Helm picks up first down with a reception, then Ewers finds Brooks on a reverse screen to move into goal-to-go territory. Jonathon Brooks runs it in from a two yards out to make it 28-3. 28-3 Texas 2:26

2:26 – Derek Williams makes the third-down PBU to stall another Baylor drive. It’s the third three-and-out.
1:34 – Worthy muffs the punt and Baylor recovers on the UT 21. Texas’ defense holds. Baylor hits a field goal to make it 28-6 0:44
0:44 – Texas goes three-and-out in what appeared to be practice for the one-minute drill. Sanborn has to punt.
0:23 – Baylor gains a few yards as the half expires. 28-6 Texas.
First Quarter
Captains for Texas: Barryn Sorrell, Kelvin Banks, Jett Bush, Jonathon Brooks. Texas wins the toss and defers. Baylor will receive.
15:00 – Baylor starts on the 25. After a short gain on first down, Jett Bush and Byron Murphy record sacks on second and third down to force a punt.
12:47 – Texas starts on its own 42. A pass to Xavier Worthy goes for a loss of six due to a missed block by Adonai Mitchell. On Texas’ first third down of the game, Quinn Ewers finds Ja’Tavion Sanders in the flat and he runs for the first. That’s the only time Texas moves the sticks on its first drive.
9:14 – Baylor starts on the 20. Sawyer Robertson completes a quick screen to Hal Presley to move the sticks one time, but that’s all the Bears can manage. Vernon Broughton with the early sack. Texas is dominating the Baylor OL.
6:01 – Texas starts on its 45 and moves quickly into Baylor territory with a pass from Ewers to Worthy for 15 yards. Jonathon Brooks runs it in from 40 yards out. 7-0 Texas 5:15
5:15 – Baylor’s first play from scrimmage is a three yard loss. Robertson then throws deep Ketron Jackson for a deep completion of 39 yards. Michael Taaffe is called for pass interference and Baylor moves to the 19. With 3rd and five to go until goal, Texas makes another stop behind the line of scrimmage to force a field goal. A 22-yarder is good. 7-3 Texas 1:07
1:04 – Keilan Robinson fumbles the return but falls on it at the 12. Adonai Mitchell hauls in his first reception as the quarter comes to an end.
