LIVE UPDATES: No. 3 Texas takes on No. 24 Kansas in a Big 12 battle
The No. 24 Jayhawks travel to Austin, Texas for the first ever ranked meeting between Kansas and No. 3 Texas. The Jayhawks and Longhorns both enter 4-0 and looking for a 5-0 start.

Fourth Quarter
5:30 – Texas first surrendered third-down conversion comes via a roughing the passer penalty. Kansas moves down the field after the penalty via some dropback passing advances. On 4th and 4 with the game essentially on the line
11:25 – After picking up a first down, Texas faces a 3rd and 7. Baxter makes a one-handed catch, eludes a tackle and picks up the line to gain. Then, Ewers finds Mitchell and Worthy to move the sticks in short order. On another 3rd down, Mitchell reaches the line to gain to make it goal to go. On a rollout play, Ewers beats the defender to the pylon for the score. 40-14 Texas 5:34
13:06 – Kansas starts on the 24. Jaray Bledsoe records a hurry, Michael Taaffe nets a TFL, and Bean scrambles for a gain of 2 before having to punt to force Kansas to go 0-for-7 on third down.
15:00 — Ewers picks up a first via a pass to Worthy, then another on a rush by Baxter. On 3rd and 8 from the 9, Ewers finds Mitchell for a score. 33-14 Texas 13:06
Third Quarter
1:31 – Facing 2nd and 8, Ewers finds Worthy for a 39 yard gain, and a run takes the game to the fourth quarter.
2:33 – Kansas goes three-and-out.
4:26 – Jonathon Brooks runs it into the red zone, and Baxter approaches the goal line. With heavy personnel on the one, Brooks rushes it in for his second touchdown. The two-point attempt is no good. 26-14 Texas 2:33
6:31 – Kansas faces a 3rd-and-6 quickly, and it becomes a 3rd-and-1 after Texas jumped offsides. Jalen Catalon makes a play on 3rd down to stop KU for no gain. On 4th and 1 from the Kansas 39, Bean fumbles and Texas recovers.
11:36 – Ja’Tavion Sanders is in street clothes on the Texas sideline. Texas faces a 3rd-and-short and picks it up via a pass to Mitchell. Ewers then finds Worthy on 3rd down for another conversion. After a lengthy pass and run for cook, a bad snap from Jake Majors to Ewers makes it 2nd and very long. A 3rd and 25 pickup of 15 yards puts Texas in field goal range. However, Auburn can’t hit a 47-yard field goal and Texas turns it over.
13:28 – Kansas starts on the 25. They pick up a first down, then Bean finds Trevor Wilson for a 58-yard touchdown pass. 20-14 Texas 11:36
15:00 – Texas starts on the 29. Ewers picks up a first down with his legs on 3rd and 9. Brooks then runs it in from 54 yards away for a score. 20-7 Texas 13:28
Second Quarter
0:05 – Kneel.
2:55 – Even after a number of penalties, Ewers finds Adonai Mitchell for a first down that’s on the fringe of field goal territory. Then he finds Whittington to move inside the 30. Ewers is intercepted to stall the drive with 0:05 seconds left.

4:45 – Kansas starts on its own 31. Thanks to a tremendous play by Jahdae Barron, the Jayhawk drive is stuffed and Kansas goes three-and-out on back-to-back drives.
9:16 – Jonathon Brooks moves the ball upfield, and CJ Baxter does the same in spelling him. Mitchell hauls in his fourth catch on five targets for another first. Texas gets into a 3rd-and-9 situation with Brooks off the field, but a failed trick play attempt doesn’t work. Auburn misses a 50-yarder.
11:15 – Texas forces a three and out.
14:05 – Jonathon Brooks starts the drive with a 67 yard rush. However, Texas can’t capitalize and put the ball into the end zone. Auburn hits another field goal from 30 yards out. 13-7 Texas 11:15
15:00 – From 45 yards out, Bean gets upfield before he’s demolished by Jalen Catalon. The ball is knocked free but it falls to Daniel Hishaw, who picks it up and runs it in for the score. 10-7 Texas 14:05
First Quarter
1:52 – Kansas moves past midfield again as the quarter comes to an end. 10-0 Texas
8:18 – As part of a drive that moved down the field with relative ease, Xavier Worthy’s second catch for a gain of 23 yards made him the 11th player in school history to eclipse 2000 receiving yards. Facing a 4th-and-3 inside the 15, Texas picks it up on a Brooks rush to make it 1st-and-goal. Texas’ drive can’t punch it in, and Bert Auburn hits a 26-yard field goal. 10-0 Texas 1:52
10:06 – Kansas picks up a first down in spite of a holding penalty to move the sticks once, but a handful of incompletions stalls the drive.
12:51 – Texas takes over at the 12. Runs by Jonathon Brooks and three Adonai Mitchell receptions move the Longhorns to the Kansas 31. Texas gets behind the sticks on a botched screen, but Quinn Ewers scrambles up the middle for a 30-yard score. 7-0 Texas 10:06
15:00 – Kansas starts Jason Bean instead of Jalon Daniels. The Jayhawks move past midfield on the first offensive play, but a PBU, a fumbled lateral, and a short gain brings on the punt team.
