Texas is on offense and starts the series with an Arch Manning zone read keeper. Ewers then throws away a ball while under pressure. On 3rd and 5, Ewers hits Ryan Wingo for a first down to move the sticks. Back to back end zone shots fall incomplete to set up a 3rd down and 10 on the 14. Ewers tosses a short completion to Wisner to set up an Auburn field goal. He nails it and it’s 19-16 Longhorns after the first portion of OT.

Longhorns drive and tie it with a 37 yard field goal

Bert Auburn splits the uprights and completes Texas’ 11-play, 47-yard drive thanks to Stockton’s interception.

On 3rd and 13, Pete Kwiatkowski brings pressure on Gunner Stockton and Jahdae Barron records an interception to give the Longhorns the ball with 2:30 left.

Georgia takes the lead

After an apparent three-and-out in Bulldogs’ territory, the Georgia special teams unit busts out the fake punt to pick up the first down and keep things moving. Georgia picks up a few more first downs, even recovers one of their own fumbles, and advances inside the red zone as six minutes remain on the clock. Georgia recovers a second fumble as it becomes first and goal. Texas’ defense makes a stand and forces a field goal. Georgia makes it to make it 16-13 with 4:32 left.

Longhorns tie it up with a Ewers to Moore touchdown

Ewers and the Longhorns finally find the end zone and tie the game up with a 41-yard pitch and catch to DeAndre Moore.

Bulldogs add three more near the end of the third

A 48-yard Trevor Etienne rush to start the drive, plus a 15-yard penalty on Vernon Broughton to give Georgia first and goal puts the Bulldogs in prime scoring position. Texas’ defense makes the needed stop to force a field goal. 13-6 Georgia 0:16.

Texas’ drive fizzles out, results in no points

Even after a nice toss from Ewers to Golden, a pass that gained no yards and a sack on 3rd and long puts Auburn in position to have to attempt a 51-yard field goal. He misses it wide left.

Texas forces a three-and-out, returns it inside UGA territory

On 3rd and long, Colin Simmons sacks Gunner Stockton and the ball flings backwards for a loss of 16 to put the Bulldogs inside their own 20. A false start sets up a punt from even further inside the 20. Silas Bolden returns it to the Georgia 40.

One first down is all Texas nets to open the 2nd half

Ewers completes a pass to Golden but Texas goes backwards multiple times after the first down to bring on the punt team. Kern’s kick lands at the 33 and is fair caught.

Bulldogs score the game’s opening touchdown

With backup quarterback Gunner Stockton in the game, the Bulldogs march 75 yards in 10 plays and take 4:33 off the clock to make it a 10-6 game. Trevor Etienne caps the drive with a 10-yard touchdown run.

Beck was injured on the last play of the first half, and for the Bulldogs’ opening series Georgia trots out Gunner Stockton at quarterback.

Longhorns forced to send the punt team on with 45 seconds left in the half

Texas took possession of the ball with 3:37 left and was able to run 2:52 off of it, but Texas is forced to punt with 0:45 seconds left in the half. Michael Kern’s punt is fair caught at the Georgia 26, a 39 yard punt.

Texas forces a quick three-and-out, takes over on the -19 with 3:37 left

A short gain from the Georgia offense nets a handful of yards but a nice PBU by Michael Taaffe and close coverage from Gavin Holmes sends the Bulldogs back to the sidelines.

Mistakes undo a quality drive put together by Silas Bolden

Silas Bolden makes a number of difficult catches to put Texas into field goal range, and Bert Auburn even makes one of his attempts. However, a false start on Malik Agbo takes points off the board and Auburn’s second attempt, this time from 42, sails wide left. Quinn Ewers avoided an interception due to a straight up drop by Daniel Harris, but his team would have been in better field position if Harris had not dropped it. 4:36 left in the half.

Georgia tacks on its first points of the day via a field goal

Long completions from Carson Beck to tight ends Ben Yurosek and Oscar Delp put the Bulldogs deep into Texas territory, but the Longhorn defense makes a stand and nearly records a pick that could have gone all the way back for six. The kick falls harmlessly to the turf, and Peyton Woodring hits a 44-yard field goal to make it 6-3 Texas 6:41 Q2.

Despite using a between-the-Arch-Manning-legs snap on 4th and 1 to move the sticks and get a new set of downs at the Georgia 25, the Longhorns commit a questionable holding charged to Bond then lose nine yards to create a 3rd and very long. A nice completion from Ewers to Moore puts the Longhorns back in Auburn territory, and he connects again to make it 6-0 Texas 10:22 Q2.

A sack attributable to Gunnar Helm puts the Longhorns behind the sticks but another long completion from Ewers to Golden, this time 32 yards, puts Texas in Georgia territory again as the quarter ends.

Texas allows a first down via penalty, but Georgia can’t move any further late in the first

Georgia’s only path forward on its second drive was via the penalty. A defensive pass interference call that moved the sticks once for UGA was followed by a stuff, an intentional grounding, and a dropped pass by Georgia. The ensuing punt went out the end zone for a touchback.

Bert Auburn hits a 41-yard field goal to put Texas in front

A 50-yard completion from Ewers to Golden on 3rd and 13 flips the field and puts the Longhorns in UGA territory once again. Texas then completes a ball 23 yards to Bond to move inside the Georgia 25. However, an offensive pass interference and a negative play set up a field goal situation for Bert Auburn. His 41-yarder is good to make it 3-0 Texas 5:17 Q1.

Longhorns hold Georgia to nine yards on opening possession, force punt

The Longhorns gave up nine yards on the opening possession for the Bulldogs but hold the line on a third down sneak attempt. Georgia lines up like it was intending to go for it but instead takes the five-yard penalty. Silas Bolden makes a fair catch at the 13.

Texas moved the ball into Georgia territory via long passes from Ewers to Matthew Golden and DeAndre Moore, but a 3rd down attempt intended for Isaiah Bond was batted up in the air by Bond and picked off by Daylen Everette. Georgia took over on its own 34.

Banks gave it a go in pregame warmups, however he was not in pads for pregame warmups and Trevor Goosby will get the start at left tackle for the Texas Longhorns.
