The Texas Longhorns complete their 15 spring practices with the Orange-White Game. Texas will go through about 100 plays in order to give one last look before they welcome the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks in September.

We will provide updates in this post.

UPDATES

The offense is in orange, while the defense is in white.

Hudson Card is taking the first quarterback snaps in pregame warmups with first-string center Jake Majors. Quinn Ewers is receiving snaps from Logan Parr, but the two signal-callers are trading reps.

Prior to the event starting, Steve Sarkisian met with Matthew McConaughey for a quick conversation at midfield.

OL in warmups: Hayden Conner – Junior Angilau – Jake Majors – Cole Hutson – Christian Jones

Second OL: Michael Balis – Sawyer Goram-Welch – Logan Parr – Max Merril – Jaylen Garth

Players are amped up getting into their warm-up lines.

Juan Davis, Anton Simieou, and Andrej Karic are not dressed to participate. Maalik Murphy is fully dressed, but lightly participating in pregame stretching.

Jaylon Guilbeau is on the sidelines but not dressed to play. JD Coffey is on the sidelines but not dressed to play. Coffey is sporting a knee brace on his right knee.

Gunnar Helm, Jahleel Billingsley, Isaiah Neyor, Xavier Worthy, and Roschon Johnson were the first skill players on the field in pregame 7on7. Hudson Card was at quarterback.

Starting off

Texas is starting the spring game with some special teams work. Bert Auburn is the first kicker. D’Shawn Jamison was the first returner.

Hudson Card is the first QB on the field. Texas is in 12 personnel with Jahleel Billingsley and Gunnar Helm at tight end, while, Isaiah Neyor and Xavier Worthy are at receiver. Roschon Johnson is taking the first snaps. While Bijan Robinson is dressed to participate, he is not even anywhere near a helmet on the sideline.

The first team offense is against the second team defense to start. Up front: Moro Ojomo – Byron Murphy – Vernon Broughton. Justice Finkley is playing buck. Jett Bush and Devin Richardson are at linebacker. Michael Taaffe is at star, while Terrance Brooks and Jamier Johnson are at corner. Morice Blackwell and Kitan Crawford are manning the corner spots.

To cap the first drive, which included a Neyor reception for plenty of yards, Johnson barges into the end zone for the first score.

Quinn Ewers takes the first snap with the second team offense. He misses a deep throw to Dajon Harrison.

First team defense has Barryn Sorrell and Alfred Collins on the edges, with Keondre Coburn and Moro Ojomo at tackle in a base look. When Texas goes into nickel, Ojomo runs off, and Jahdae Barron runs on.

D’Shawn Jamison and Ryan Watts are at corner. Jaylan Ford and DeMarvion Overshown are at linebacker. Jerrin Thompson and Anthony Cook are at safety.

Jonathon Brooks breaks a nice run during the first series, followed by a good pass to Ja’Tavion Sanders from Quinn Ewers.

Casey Cain, Marucs Washington, and Kelvontay Dixon at the WR spots.

Auburn hits a field goal to add a handful of points for the second team offense.

The second team offense takes the field again, with Ewers leading the way on the third drive. Morice Blackwell puts a lick on Worthy as he’s moving up the field.

Ewers makes a huge pass to Neyor for a deep touchdown pass, over 60 yards for the score. Neyor got past the defense, running by his defender.

Behind the second team OL, Card and Jaydon Blue are in the backfield. On second down, Ovie Oghoufo records a sack after eluding Jaylen Garth, or no one considering he wasn’t blocked.

Jordan Whittington with a good run on a screen pass, eluding Jamier Johnson for a good gain to make it third down on the next series. Johnson runs past, through, and over every defender for a 56-yard TD run.

Ewers throws an interception to Anthony Cook, after Casey Cain was not looking for the pass.

Isaac Pearson is getting a few punt reps during a break in the action. Jamison is back deep to return.

Behind a mix of the first and second OL, Ewers gets another series. He hits Keilan Robinson in the flat for a quick pass. Facing third down, Ewers hits Whittington over the middle for a first down.

The ensuing first down results in Prince Dorbah and Byron Murphy recording a sack. Myron Warren records another one on a third and long play.

Card takes the field behind the second OL. After a first down incompletion, he finds Dixon for a short pass to set up third and medium. Card looks for Dixon deep on the sideline, but Ryan Watts is tight in coverage to make sure Dixon can’t make a play.

Card is behind the first OL on the following series, and they open a big hole for Brooks to gain a first down. On a third and short, Keilan Robinson crosses the the line to gain for three more snaps for the offense under Card.

Good push on second and long for Brooks to make it third and medium. Card finds Whittington to make it first and goal. Card then finds… the two yard line to make it second and goal.

Aaron Bryant makes a play on goal-to-go to make it third and five. But then, Card runs into the end zone for a score.

Ewers and the second offensive line, with Junior Angilau at center, takes the field against the first defense. Barron prevents a third down conversion on a rollout from Ewers, who was looking for Harrison.

On a second down with a mix of first and second teamers in the game, Crawford makes a nice tackle of Robinson on second down. Ewers finds Jahleel Billingsley on third down, but well short of the line to gain.

Card, behind the second OL, takes a sack. Card then finds Brooks for a dump-off for a first down. A few plays later, DJ Harris and T’Vondre Sweat combine for a sack.

In a two-minute drill, Card moves the first team offense to the fifty. They move to the 24 with a few dinks and dunks with 18 seconds remaining on the clock. With 10 seconds left in the “half,” Card finds Ja’Tavion Sanders over the middle. However, Jerrin Thompson just strips the ball from him short of the goal line.

With three seconds left in the “half,” Auburn makes a field goal. The score is unknown.

Texas goes situational again with 1:10 left on the clock. Nothing comes of it.
