Longhorns hoops: Kansas State at Texas Preview
The No. 6 ranked Texas Longhorns (12-1, 1-0) play host to Kansas State (12-1, 1-0) Tuesday night

The Longhorns were the lone Big 12 team to win on the road in the conference openers Saturday. Texas beat arch-rival Oklahoma 70-69 in a thriller in Norman.
Kansas State enters tonight’s game on a six game winning streak. Quality wins this season are West Virginia, LSU and Nebraska.
The Longhorns will once again be coached by interim head coach Rodney Terry. Terry has coached the Longhorns to five straight wins.
How to watch the game
Texas and Kansas State tipoff at 8 p.m. Central on the Longhorn Network with Lowell Galindo (play-by-play) and Lance Blanks (analyst) calling the action.
The game will be played at the Moody Center (10,763) – Austin, Texas
The Wildcats lead the series 23-21. Kansas State won the last meeting 66-65 January 18, 2022 in Austin.
The Rodney Terry File
Rodney Terry enters Tuesday with a career record of 168-156. He has been a head coach at the Division I level for ten year prior to joining Chris Beard’s staff in Austin.

Terry built the Fresno State program up in his time in California. The Bulldogs won 20 or more games in four of Terry’s last five seasons. That included three times in post season play. Terry has a 0-1 record in the NCAA Tournament.
The Jerome Tang File
Jerome Tang is in his first season as the head coach of the Wildcats. It is also his first season as a head coach at the Division I level. He has a 12-1 record as a head coach.
Tang was an assistant at Baylor for 20 seasons under Scott Drew. His recruiting and coaching was key in the Bears building the program into a National Champion.
