The Texas State kicker, who hit the NCAA Transfer Portal on April 10th, has committed to Texas. Shipley played for the Bobcats from 2021-2024 after a one-year stint at Oklahoma State in 2020 where he was coached by Horns’ assistant Jason McEndoo.

Shipley, from Liberty Hill (Texas), has hit 31 of his 35 career tries. He was 15-for-15 with a long of 47 on his way to a first-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2023. The next season he went 15-for-19 with a long of 60 kicked inside Houston’s NRG Stadium versus Sam Houston in 2024.

Shipley comes from a family of specialists. His twin brother Matthew kicks for Hawaii and his older brother Michael kicked for West Texas A&M.

He is 111-for-114 in his career on point after attempts. At 6-foot-0, 185-pounds, and one year of eligibility remaining, Shipley has an opportunity to real boost his draft stock next Spring with a fantastic fall in Austin.

Several other high-profile SEC and Big 12 were in the mix, but the Longhorns nabbed the Texas State graduate in order to solidify the specialist room in 2025.
