The Texas Longhorns’ regular season work is done. The win over No. 3 Kansas 75-59 Saturday in Austin locked up a No. 2 seed for the Longhorns.

The win was an 11th NCAA NET Quadrant 1 win on the season, which trails only Kansas (15) nationally.

For Texas as a program, the 23 regular season wins are the most since the 2010-11 season that saw Texas go 25-6 in the regular season. The 12 Big 12 Conference wins are also the most since the 2010-11 season (13-3).

The Longhorns will enter the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 2 seed with the pressure off having to add key wins to ensure a No. 2 seed in the Big Dance. With that said, there are Quadrant 1 games remaining for the Longhorns in the Big 12 Tournament.

Let’s take a look at where Texas stands headed into the conference tourney.

NET (Texas No. 10)

The Longhorns are No. 10 in NET, which is the NCAA’s primary sorting tool for evaluating teams.

According to the NCAA, “the NET includes more components than just winning percentage. It takes into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses.

“Using the quadrant system, which was in its fourth season in 2020-21, the quality of wins and losses will be organized based on game location and the opponent’s NET ranking.”
