The Texas Longhorns are hosting their first junior day of the 2023 calendar year, and one of the top local defensive linemen is on campus for the visit with his dad. It just so happens that the prospect, 2024 Lake Travis (Texas) defensive lineman Jacob Henry, is the son of the World’s Strongest Man and WWE hall of famer Mark Henry.

Mark Henry is no stranger to the Texas Longhorns. A longtime fan, Henry once wore a burnt orange Texas Longhorns shirt on WWE’s Monday Night Raw. Originally from Silsbee, Texas, Henry had an accomplished powerlifting career prior to entering the squared circle, winning gold medals at events like the 2002 Arnold Strongman Classic, first in the 145 kilogram powerlifting championships in 1995, and three straight U.S. National Weightlifting Championships in the 108 kilogram division.

He began wrestling in 1996 and went onto a storied career in the WWF and the WWE. Whether Sexual Chocolate, or a member of the nation of domination, or the custodian of the Hall of Pain, the World’s Strongest Man was a key figure for the promotion for two decades.

He was a two-time world-champion, a European champion, and a three-time Slammy Award winner.

Texas is hosting over 50 prospects for their junior day event. Stay up to date with the latest recruiting news with Inside Texas.
