The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder made an official visit to Ole Miss on June 9-11 and Texas on June 16-18 before shutting down the visit process. Along with the two finalists, Hills was in contact with LSU, Auburn and Tennessee from the spring through June.
Texas won out over the Rebels due to a strong combination of football and academics. Texas defensive line coach Bo Davis and head coach Steve Sarkisian worked the recruitment against Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding. The trio have a history of coaching together on the same staff at Alabama and are friends.
Hills joins On3 four-star and Duncanville’s Alex January as defensive line pledges for the Longhorns. The 6-foot-4.5, 320-pound January will likely play over the ball in Austin, while Hills will play more of a 3-tech role.
Hills on Texas
Hills told Inside Texas in mid-May that the Longhorns’ football and academic combination would be key in his decision making process.

“I like the vibe and energy the players give off,” Hills told Inside Texas on May 18. “Texas plays physical. The atmosphere is wonderful. Texas is one of the top business schools in the country, which is what I want to major in.”
The Lafayette prospect also told On3’s Shea Dixon on July 6 that Texas had built a solid relationship.
“Texas was a great official visit,” he said. “I message with (head coach Steve Sarkisian) and (defensive line coach Bo Davis) a lot. That relationship is good and strong. And the visit was wonderful. I got to see that it was a really nice program.”
Hills bounced back from an ACL injury as a sophomore to have a very productive junior season. He totaled 84 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and six sacks for LCA in 2022.
