Did Thursday’s double-overtime win over Texas A&M do enough to get the Longhorns in the tournament? Several major prognosticators believe so, and Rodney Terry‘s team can further solidify its status as a tournament team on Friday against the Tennessee Volunteers in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.

Texas moved up to No. 38 in NET with its win over Texas A&M, and were labeled as the last team in the field of 68 by ESPN’s Joe Lunardi following the double-overtime victory.

On3’s James Fletcher also included Texas as one of the last four teams in, slotting the Longhorns into the First Four in Dayton. He projected that Texas would battle Xavier in the First Four.

On BracketMatrix.com, a site that amalgamates the field of 68 projections from 107 different sources, Texas was listed as in on 26 prognostications. Most of them labeled the Longhorns as a No. 11 seed, with a smattering of 12s and even one 10 included among the 26.

Texas has a chance to further improve its resume with another Quadrant 1 win on Friday when they take on the Tennessee Volunteers. The Longhorns lost 74-70 to Rick Barnes‘ team in January when the Vols were ranked No. 1. Tre Johnson scored 26 points, Jordan Pope added 17 points, and Tramon Mark knocked in 10 points in the defeat.

Other notable results from bubble teams from Thursday included Indiana falling to Oregon, Xavier falling to Marquette, and Oklahoma losing to Kentucky. Boise State and North Carolina both won their games and will play on Friday.
