New football jersey numbers revealed for the 2023 Texas Longhorns
A media days tradition is the updating of the Texas Football roster in preparation for the new season. Not only does that mean fresh heights and weights, but also new jersey numbers for summer enrollees and others who decided to don a new digit for the 2023 season.

Texas released its updated 2023 roster on Wednesday. Here are the new uniform numbers on the roster for the 2023 season.
2: Freshman defensive back Derek Williams Jr. takes over No. 2 on defense after Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey wore it during his lone season in Austin.
8: Casey Cain goes from 88 to 8, taking over the ocho from Xavier Worthy. Worthy switched to No. 1 ahead of the Alamo Bowl.
9: Isaiah Neyor gets the number Jahleel Billingsley had during his brief time in Austin.
15: Linebacker S’Maje Burrell gets a number in the teens.
16: Previously wearing No. 36, Michael Taaffe now shares a number with Arch Manning.
18: Wideout Ryan Niblett was assigned No. 18, a number worn on defense by fellow 2023 classmate Liona Lefau.
24: Defensive back Warren Roberson takes over a number not worn on defense last season.
26: Running back Tre Wisner bumps walk-on Ky Woods from No. 26. Woods is now No. 29
