The Longhorns (24-8) cruised to a 61-47 win over Oklahoma State last night in the quarterfinal after a slow start offensively.

Texas is locked in as a strong No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament with a 12th Quadrant 1 victory last night. Kansas is the only school in the country with more Quad 1 wins with 16.

The Horned Frogs (21-11) rode a hot shooting night from beyond the arc to an 80-67 win over No. 12 Kansas State. TCU shoots only 30% from three on the season, but hit on 11 of 25 last night.

Texas interim head coach Rodney Terry was named the Sporting News National Coach of the Year Wednesday. He has coached the Longhorns to a 17-7 record since being named the interim head coach.

Timmy Allen Update

Super senior forward Timmy Allen sat out Thursday night’s game with a very minor ankle sprain. If this was a NCAA Tournament game, he would have played.

The Longhorns are not expected to suit up Allen the remainder of the Big 12 Tournament, but instead make sure he’s 100% for the NCAA Tournament.
