In this episode, Bobby, Justin, and Gerry discuss…

Texas is tracking commitments from two defensive linemen this week, Melvin Hills and Jayden Jackson. Gerry explains that Texas is in a good spot over Ole Miss and LSU for Hills, with the Tigers not doing enough to land his services. The Rebels are the main competition for the Longhorns ahead of the decision. “Melvin Hills is a kid who checks all the boxes for Texas, similar to Daniel Cruz,” Hamilton said. “I’m not saying he’s that level of prospect, but he checks all the boxes. He’s a great culture fit.” Hills will decide around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Jackson, Hamilton has less of a read. “NIL is such a big factor there,” Hamilton said. “Coming out of the June official visits, the top three were Ohio State, Texas, and Oklahoma.” Florida and Miami are also involved, and every school probably believes they have a good opportunity. Ohio State has proximity, which could be a major factor along with NIL.

Justin is on the road checking in with Ryan Wingo in St. Louis, Mo., and explains how Steve Sarkisian has made the On3 Industry Ranking five-star a priority. Justin will get more details while in the Show Me State. Wingo is a prospect who has kept things close to the vest, so the trip will be important in finding more details. Gerry was told by Wingo that the decision timeline is December, but that is in question. Gerry and Bobby then go into more details about Wingo and Micah Hudson as prospects.

Gerry and Bobby discuss D’Antre Robinson and TJ Lindsey. Texas current leads Florida for Robinson and Gerry has one of several predictions in for the Longhorns. “They have a lot going for them in this recruitment,” Gerry said. Lindsey, an IMG Academy product, is a Texas versus Auburn battle. They then talk Dominick McKinley, who the two think will wait until late in the cycle to announce.

A discussion about EDGE, specifically Colin Simmons, Danny Okoye, and Zina Umeozulu, follows. “I still think Texas has become the team to beat for Colin Simmons,” Hamilton said. “I think the next big part of his recruitment is where does he show up the last weekend in July. I sound like a broken record, but sometimes that’s what this stuff is.”

With Umeozulu, Gerry thinks Texas was in the driver’s seat ahead of a summer decision but Zina has slowed down the process. Texas still has confidence, per Hamilton.

Regarding Okoye, Gerry says much of it has to do with where his mom accompanies him.

The two then dive into the recruitments of Wardell Mack, Kobe Black, and Selman Bridges, plus Corian Gipson, Joshua Lair, and Myles Davis. They conclude with a discussion about offensive prospects Brandon Baker, Blake Ivy, DeAndre Carter, and other O-linemen
