On this episode, Bobby and Paul discuss
Urban Meyer’s recent comments about how Texas might have the best roster in college football, even among the national elites like Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State. Meyer’s quote was, “Man for man, roster against roster, it’s hard to say Texas doesn’t have the best roster in college football.”
Paul noted it was typical “passive-aggressive Urban Meyer” and a way to build Texas up in case Steve Sarkisian and company end up falling short in 2023.
Bobby disagreed with the three-time national champion head coach because of the lack of top-tier talent on the defensive line. He thought the talent on the offensive line was near that point, but doesn’t see enough experience in the players who would fit what Meyer is talking about.
Paul puts it this way: “Talent unleavened with experience is just potential.”
Paul continues by saying Meyer has dishonest intentions, trying to advance a narrative and talking nonsense including a lack of in-depth knowledge about the roster.

After discussing Meyer, they get down to the real issue that the controversial coach was touching on: where is Texas ahead of 2023?
Paul mentions he’s optimistic on Texas, as has Inside Texas.
“Where the rubber meets the road is that big palace built out in the desert in the middle of nowhere called Las Vegas, and if you go look at the lines for the Big 12 (and) who’s going to win it… Texas is +125,” Wadlington said. “Next best odds are Oklahoma at +325”
The duo talks about the upcoming 2023 Texas defense and what its strength would be, how the defense should be built up, Jalen Catalon’s fit, and more.
