In this episode, Justin and Bobby discuss:

  1. Justin and Bobby discuss with UT’s Spring football with one week left. The 2023 Horn squad hosts the Orange-White scrimmage on Saturday, April 15 from DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. They detail the important notes to watch for on Saturday as the Horns wrap up spring ball. Justin notes Ethan Burke’s ability to set the edge could be instrumental toward the defense’s ability to stop the run in 2023. He also talks about new running back Savion Red and how he’s flashed between the tackles running ability and scored on a number of runs during scrimmages recently. But there’s nobody more fans and Texas folks want to see than new quarterback Arch Manning on Saturday. One of the most ballyhooed prospects in the recruiting era will make his UT debut in front of family and friends next weekend.
  2. Justin and Bobby dig into Minnesota defensive line transfer Trill Carter taking an official visit to Austin on Tuesday, April 11-13 and what he could add to the Horns roster over the next two seasons. Texas only signed one DL in 2023, Sydir Mitchell, and despite having Byron Murphy, T’Vondre Sweat, and a handful of rotational pieces along the defensive interior, UT and Bo Davis are always looking to upgrade the roster by any means necessary. Carter, 6-foot-2, 305 pounds, fits the mold at the 3-tech position in Pete Kwaitkowski’s defense.
  3. Justin and Bobby talk about the recruits expected on the Forty Acres on Saturday for the spring game. From UT commits Trey Owens and Hunter Moddon, to the nation’s top offensive tackle, Brandon Baker, the list will surely grow over the next six days. Justin recalls the importance of recruits attending the spring game, when Bijan Robinson first tripped to Austin in 2018, loved the scrimmage, and left a Longhorns lean.
