Inside Texas’ Bobby Burton and Justin Wells discussed the latest from the Forty Acres with their installment of On Texas Football.

The pair began on the third-year defensive back Kitan Crawford. The Tyler High (Tx) product has played cornerback and nickel in his short time in Austin, but was recently moved to safety this off-season.

Crawford is a quiet, team-oriented talent that was more than willing to make the position change. With his athleticism, it appears Steve Sarkisian and Pete Kwiatkowski are looking to get as much talent on the field as possible. Sources tell IT it’s early, but the transition feels natural for the east Texas raised resident.

They discussed the early differences in new wide receiver coach Brennan Marion and the former wideout tasker Andre Coleman. While Coleman demanded a strong amount of respect for his years in the industry, Marion brings a new energy and very detail-oriented.

Sources tell IT that Marion is adamant about movements, like footwork, counting steps, sinking hips, and exploding out of the routes. It’s similar to practicing basketball but without the ball. Marion wants the fundamentals drilled into the wide receiver room in Austin and his enthusiasm has been infectious.

On recruiting, they spoke about local products and Texas targets, Jaden Greathouse and Colton Vasek. The 2023 pair from Austin (Tx) Westlake are both highly coveted prospects across the nation, with Vasek earning an Alabama offer on Monday. Vasek’s father, and Westlake DL coach, is a former Longhorn and the Texas faithful hopes that helps in his pursuit.

With Greathouse, IT reported he’ll be visiting UT on March 26th, the same weekend that On3 No. 1 overall prospect Arch Manning will be in attendance and possibly On3 Consensus No. 34 overall running back Rueben Owens as well.

Greathouse has an official visit to Notre Dame on the docket for April 23rd, and will also try to see Oklahoma and Miami this spring.
