Big 12 media days is next Wednesday and Thursday, and aside from the multitude of Big 12 coaches, players, and luminaries set to be in Arlington, including new schools BYU, Houston, Central Florida, and Cincinnati, Bobby wants to know from conference coordinator of officials Greg Burks how there could possibly a lopsided 14-0 penalty discrepancy in a game of American football. Joe recalls a time at a previous Big 12 media day where Justin Wells questioned Walt Anderson about similar questionable decisions from officials in another Texas vs. Oklahoma State contest.

Texas is sending Steve Sarkisian, Xavier Worthy, Quinn Ewers, Jaylan Ford, Jahdae Barron, and Jordan Whittington to media days. It’ll be the first time Texas sends a starting quarterback to Arlington since Sam Ehlinger went in 2019. Bobby and Joe go through questions they want answered from each. For Ewers, it’s about the offseason and leadership; Ford’s questions are more focused on those around him; Whittington will be interrogated about his reasoning for his return; Worthy’s questions deal with his injury in the last half of last season; Barron’s questions revolve around what spurred him to having a great season after losing his starting job early in the year.
The two finish off with a look at what they might ask some of the new attendees, with Joe taking a keen look at what’s going on in Dana Holgorsen’s program in Houston.
