In this episode, Justin and Bobby discuss…

  • Justin and Bobby begin with the commitment of D’antre Robinson and Corian Gipson announcing for Clemson on Saturday. Adding Robinson was big as the Horns are looking to stock up on defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, and beat in-state Florida in the process. Losing Gipson adds to the need for Waco (Texas) Connally CB Kobe Black and Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall safety Joshua Lair.
  • Justin and Bobby keep on with recruiting with the Mater Dei prospects hitting Austin on Tuesday, July 25th. Jordon Davison, Marcus Harris, and Shaun Scott are all headed to town. Texas is hitting the California program after signing Spencer Shannon and are recruiting 2024 O-linemen Brandon Baker and Deandre Carter to stay close to the power program.

  • Justin and Bobby discuss the recruitment of Duncanville (Texas) EDGE and On3 five-star Colin Simmons and how important he could be to UT’s Class of 2024. Texas needs an elite edge or two in the next class and Simmons checks all the boxes. Texas is all-in on the 6-foot-3, 225-pound pass-rushing specialist.
  • Justin and Bobby dive into team notes nine days from training camp. Justin has three players he feels will make a big impact in 2023: Byron Murphy, AD Mitchell, and Gavin Holmes. Bobby agreed that Murphy might have as much upside as any player in the Texas defense and also expects a big season.
  • The guys finish with an injury update. Isaiah Neyor, Jalen Catalon, and Cole Hutson are among the names of players that are healthy and hoping to not wear the green jersey once fall camp begins.
