In this episode, Justin and Joe discuss…

  • Justin and Joe start the ever-popular Questions Answered with everything Colin Simmons. The Duncanville (Texas) native and On3 Five-Star Plus+ EDGE is making his decision today at his high school around 2pm. The most fascinating part of his recruitment? Justin says he’s an early impact type prospect and after winning the Texas 6A state championship last winter, his stock literally exploded. Joe remembers how Texas was one of the first schools to offer Simmons back in 2021. With Texas and LSU looking strong, what need does Simmons address at each school? For LSU, he’s more depth on an already loaded defensive front. For Texas, he’s one of the final pieces of Steve Sarkisian’s rebuilding model. After inking elite prospects at virtually every position, EDGE is the lone spot that needs a dose of a five-stars. The comparison? On3 notes Desoto (Texas) product, NFL all-pro Von Miller as the closest comp, with Justin and Joe agreeing.
  • Justin and Joe next discuss what are the most important factors in landing Simmons for Texas. Justin mentions his mother, early impact/missing piece, and NIL as the top three data points in the Simmons pursuit. If Simmons picks Texas, he’ll be the highest rated defensive recruit since Malcom Brown in 2013.

  • Justin and Joe dive back into team with each’s top storyline so far in gall camp. Justin mentions how good the offensive and defensive lines look and being in great shape. Joe mentions the lack of a quarterback controversy as Ewers has the job this fall.
  • A name that we haven’t heard much about? Justin mentions Xavier Worthy and the lack of notes. Worthy is now in an offense where he can truly flourish with help from the other receivers. Joe mentions Gavin Holmes.
  • Justin and Joe go back to recruiting for the latest on Waco (Texas) Connally CB, On3 Industry Ranking five-star Kobe Black. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Cen-Tex stud is high on Texas and Texas A&M after dropping his top five list on Wednesday. Justin also mentions Black doesn’t appear tp be in any hurry to make a decision.
  • Justin and Joe finish with Mr. Cook’s upcoming wedding. Justin asks how Joe recruited his bride, the official visits, and in-home visits. Joe points at his face to remove all doubt.
