In this episode, Justin and Joe discuss…
- Justin and Joe begin with the big matchup on Saturday between No. 10/11 Texas and No. 4 Alabama from Tuscaloosa. It’s the first non-conference, power five program at Bryant Denny since Penn State in the early 2010s. How similar will this year’s contest be compared to last season’s 20-19 Alabama win? Justin mentions the lack of offensive superstars, like Bryce Young and Bijan Robinson. He thinks fans should expect the unexpected and will see another close contest on Saturday night. Joe believes each teams defensive line will be the biggest factors as well. How important will Cedric Baxter be? Justin sees Baxter as a game-breaker that can thwart the Crimson Tide’s front seven. Joe sees a game where Jonathon Brooks and Baxter split 25 carries, including Keilan Robinson.
- Justin and Joe shift to right guard and where Texas goes from here. DJ Campbell has the most upside, but Cole Hutson is the more solid and steady. Justin remarks you can’t miss assignments against Alabama, which led to Quinn Ewers being knocked out of the game last season. Most important player for Alabama on offense and defense? Justin mentions Jalen Milroe and Dallas Turner. Joe selects Kaydn Proctor and Kool-Aid McKinstry. Most important player for Texas on offense and defense? Justin goes with Ewers and T’Vondre Sweat for the Horns. Joe chooses David Gbenda as a key for the UT defense, while Xavier Worthy being the guy on the offensive side.
- Justin and Joe discuss the biggest recruits on campus this weekend. Justin names 2025 QB KJ Lacey, Texas commit, and Solomon Williams, EDGE from Tampa, FL.

- Justin and Joe mention the advantages and disadvantages for both programs. For Texas, the advantage lies in its wide receivers vs the Alabama secondary. For Alabama, the advantages are its defensive line versus UT’s offensive line. Joe agrees on the Alabama defensive, and sees Texas wideouts versus the Alabama cornerbacks could help the Horns.
- Lastly, Justin and Joe talk against the spread. Justin believes Alabama won’t cover the 7-point spread, but sees a close game win for the Crimson Tide. Joe sees Texas covering, but unsure if that’s enough to leave Tuscaloosa with a win.
