In this episode, Justin and Bobby discuss…
- Justin and Bobby begin with No. 11 Texas’ big win over No. 3 Alabama, 34-24, from Bryant Denny Stadium on Saturday night. Led by Quinn Ewers and an opportunistic defense, Steve Sarkisian went into Tuscaloosa and left with a resounding victory. From Ewers’ big night, to Jahdae Barron and Jerrin Thompson recording interceptions, and Anthony Hill Jr’s coming out party, it was a burnt orange night deep in the heart of SEC country. Ewers was the biggest story on Saturday and it’s not even close.
- Justin and Bobby dive into big parts of the contest, including the 12-play, 7-minute+ drive at the end of the game to put the Crimson Tide in the casket. Sarkisian’s play-calling in the offense was huge for Ewers’ success. From Ja’Tavion Sanders, Xavier Worthy, and Adonai Mitchell, Sarkisian and Ewers were on the same plan. Bobby mentions the defensive front giving up chunk plays early in the game, but the second half was a different story. T’Vondre Sweat, Byron Murphy, and Alfred Collins all played well. Alabama only had one trip in the red zone on Saturday.
- Justin and Bobby discuss corralling Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, adding five sacks and six tackles for loss. Led by Jalen Catalon‘s seven tackles, Ethan Burke‘s breakout, and Hill’s six tackles and two sacks, the UT defense was clutch in the second half. Texas won all three phases of the game, Bobby said.

- Did Justin and Bobby expect Texas to be the more disciplined team? Not really, but they did. No pre-snap penalties, and winning the turnover margin by +2. Texas also only had four penalties to Alabama’s ten flags. Justin mentioned the freshmen class were expecting this win. They don’t know anything different and that changes the course of programs.
