In this episode, Justin and Gerry discuss…

  • Justin and Gerry start this week’s show with the group of prospects from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei converging on Austin on Tuesday, July 25th. From Jordon Davison, Marcus Harris, and more, the Longhorns are attempting to build a pipeline from Mater Dei to Austin. It began with 2023 tight end Spencer Shannon, then continued with the recruitments of Brandon Baker and Deandre Carter. With Sarkisian’s staff having so much familiarity with the school, including wide receivers coach Chris Jackson being an alum, those connections should be pay big dividends down the line.
  • Some big names are headed to Austin on Thursday, July 27th for the annual pool party. 2025 prospects Chad Woodfork, Cobey Sellers, and even some of Texas’ 2024 commits will be on campus. Another visitor for this weekend is 2024 Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day EDGE Solomon Williams, who Texas is pushing for a visit.
  • Justin and Gerry jump into 2024 defensive line talk with Lafayette (La.) Acadiana On3 Industry Ranking five-star Dominick McKinley and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy’s TJ Lindsey. McKinley will be at LSU this weekend, and after he announced he wanted to make his decision at the Under Armour All-American game, there’s talk he might shut down his process earlier.

  • Justin and Gerry talk about the five-star targets remaining for Texas in the 2024 cycle, like McKinley, Colin Simmons, Kobe Black, Ryan Wingo, and Brandon Baker. Simmons will be at LSU on Saturday with other Duncanville prospects like Dakorien Moore. Black is still looking at a late decision as he heads to College Station on Saturday. Wingo is hitting Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas A&M this week, but wants to return to Austin for a game this fall. Baker might see Oregon, with Texas and Ohio State looking strong for the On3 Industry Ranking five-star.
