In this episode, Justin and Gerry discuss….
Justin and Gerry begin with the latest on tight end recruiting with UT hosting 2024 Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman’s Elijah Loftin this weekend for the Texas-Kansas State contest. Even with Jordan Washington in the class, the Horns and Jeff Banks always test the waters for players at the TE position. Getting Loftin, a Miami commit, on campus is a step in the right direction.
Justin and Gerry continue to go through 2024 with Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day wide receiver and Florida pledge Izaiah Williams. The recent Texas offer was scheduled to take an official visit to UT for the BYU game, but after the Longhorns landed On3 Industry Ranking five-star Ryan Wingo, it appears they’ll be more judicious with the last receiver take. Look for the portal to be important at the position in the offseason.
Justin and Gerry hit on the EDGE position with Solomon Williams. Texas still stays in touch with the Florida native, who will see Alabama-LSU this weekend.

Justin and Gerry move to the offensive side of the ball where Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle Deandre Carter and Texas continue to connect after he made an official visit to Austin for the Texas-KU game. Carter and his family enjoyed the visit and have the Horns squarely in the mix for the flip.

Justin and Gerry discuss the defensive secondary with Kobe Black, Xavier Filsaime, Corian Gipson, and Wardell Mack as the hottest topics. Texas is trying to flip Gipson, a Clemson commit, and Filsaime and Mack, Florida pledges.
Justin and Gerry finish in hoops with Carrolton (Texas) Newman Smith PF and top 2024 target Nic Codie. Texas remains in a strong position for the metroplex prospect as the staff is looking at three for the next class.
