In this episode, Justin and Gerry discuss….

Justin and Gerry begin with the Red River Shootout on Saturday and the amount of recruits from Texas in both programs. It’s one reason the game is great and why the players put so much into the game.

Justin and Gerry go through 2024 positional needs, beginning with wide receiver Ryan Wingo. The On3 Industry Ranking five-star is hitting Missouri on Saturday, since his high school’s senior night is on Friday. He was a maybe for Texas-OU.

They hit on the offensive line and Auburn pledge Deandre Carter. The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle made an official visit to Austin for the Texas-KU weekend. Carter and his family enjoyed the visit and have the Horns squarely in the mix for the flip.

Justin and Gerry move to the defensive side of the ball, talking defensive line. From Alex January, D’antre Robinson, and Melvin Hills, Texas would love one more interior defender, but also have to hold onto Robinson, etc. For the EDGE spot, Texas looks fancy with Colin Simmons and Zina Umeozulu in the basket, and now the Horns want one more pass-rusher. Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day EDGE Solomon Williams remains the final target at that spot. Justin and Gerry believe Texas will likely hit the portal this offseason.

Justin and Gerry discuss the defensive secondary with Kobe Black, Corian Gipson, and Wardell Mack the hottest topics. Texas and Black remain in a great standing, with Texas A&M coming on late. Texas is trying to flip Gipson, a Clemson commit, and Mack, a Florida pledge.
