In this episode, Justin and Gerry discuss:
- Justin and Gerry begin with the 2023 UIL State track meet and the number of UT signees and targets on hand in Austin last weekend. Waco Connally’s Jelani McDonald capped an impressive high school career competing in the 4A triple jump. After being all-district in football, Cen-Tex player of the year in basketball, and winning the gold medal in the triple jump in 2022, former Longhorn Cedric Griffin chimed in with a tweet celebrating the future Horn in Austin. UT signees Melissa OL Trevor Goosby and Aldine Eisenhower WR Ryan Niblett also competed at the track meet and will enroll at Texas between May 28th and June 1st.
- Justin and Gerry also discussed the 2024 targets in Lake Belton WR Micah Hudson, Midlothian WR Bryant Wesco, and 2025 Duncanville star receiver Dakorien Moore. Hudson told Inside Texas he’s visiting UT in late June officially, while Wesco mentioned the possibility of visiting Texas later this year.
- Justin and Gerry spoke about IT’s trek through Dallas this week, making stops at Duncanville, Arlington Martin, and Lancaster among others. Colin Simmons was the big name on the docket, with Texas clamoring for an official visit in June, followed by Alex January’s official visit schedule, and more on On3 five-star Moore. Gerry also gave an update on Corian Gipson, the four-star safety from Lancaster and the two teams that are in the thick of the race. They finished discussing how it appears to be a lot of Texas-LSU battles across the Lone Star State in the 2024 cycle.
