It’s wait and see with Beard
Beard was suspended without pay on Monday pending the investigation into third-degree felony charges of family domestic violence that were filed against him earlier in the day. Beard was arrested and booked by the Austin Police Department Monday morning.
“The best thing (Texas) can do right now is gather all the facts and make the best informed decision…they’re just gonna do all their homework and figure it out,” Nahlin mentioned. “This is probably not going to unravel very quickly, but you know, it’s a serious matter and they’re gonna give it all the consideration it deserves, for sure.”
Assistant coach Rodney Terry was in charge for the Longhorns’ game against Rice on Monday.
On the transfer portal
Stanford punter Ryan Sanborn did everything but commit to the Longhorns during an official visit over last weekend.

“Obviously, with a Stanford kid, the first thing they’re going to do is make sure that the school checks out and meets his standards,” Nahlin said. “And yeah, of course it does. Texas has great academics. He’s very interested in expanding his footprint outside of California.”
Nahlin on recruiting
Several players committed to Texas took official visits to Houston last weekend. Are they wavering?
Nahlin gives his take on the trio which includes S’Majre Burrell, who he considers flipping “unfathomable.”
