In this episode, Joe and Bobby discuss…

Sarkisian announced sophomore offensive lineman DJ Campbell will not be playing in the upcoming Orange-White Game without disclosing a reason. He also mentioned Jalen Catalon and Keilan Robinson would miss the contest as a result of lingering injuries. Joe mentions how he would have liked to have seen Campbell in action against some of Texas’ better players, but instead Cam Williams will have that opportunity at guard, most likely.

Williams at guard was something reported by Inside Texas for some time, and Sarkisian confirmed those reports today. “I thought Sarkisian had some really nice things to say about the young man,” Burton said.

Cook and Burton discuss the format of the spring game, which Sarkisian revealed would be as close to a game as possible. Sarkisian said he is the “team owner and commissioner,” and his choice is to have a game with teams drafted. “If you see ones versus ones, you’d likely see good on good. In this format, where it’s draft, you’re able to tell how guys are able to communicate,” Cook said.

The two then get into a conversation about Byron Murphy, an overdue one at that. Sarkisian called Murphy “unblockable,” some of the highest praise he’s offered to an individual player in media settings.

The two close with a discussion of Ja’Tavion Sanders and his development, plus Sarkisian’s recruiting strategy when it comes to conversing with transfer portal prospects versus high school recruits.
