One-stop shopping, see how each Texas player measured and timed at the NFL Combine

Texas sent a whopping 14 players to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last week, with many of them putting forth impressive performances.

With so many to track, I figured it would be easier to have a comprehensive recap. So, here you go.
OT Kelvin Banks
6-foot-5, 315, 33 1/2″ arm, 10 3/8″ hand

Comments: Movement numbers weren’t nearly as important as his measurements. Some teams still have Will Campbell and/or Armand Mambou ahead of him but talk of him moving to guard should subside, other than if that’s his quickest path to the field.
WR Matthew Golden
5-foot-11, 191, 30 5/8″ arm, 9 1/2″ hand

Comments: He was a 1st or 2nd rounder coming into the draft but he’s a lock to go on the first night after that 40. He already had the skill and intangibles, now teams understand he has game breaking speed.
CB Jahdae Barron
5-foot-11, 194, 29 5/8″ arm, 9 1/2″ hand

Comments: My pre-combine prediction of a 4.45 was viewed as being optimistic. Turns out it was off by quite a bit. Barron is similar to Golden—everyone knew the intangibles were there but now he’s just as well known for his athletic profile.
What I love about Texas’ first-round targets is they all have very high floors relative to the crap shoot that is the NFL Draft.
WR Isaiah Bond
5-foot-11, 180, 30 1/2″ arm, 8 1/2″ hand

Comments: You know you’re fast when a 4.39 is disappointing but Bond did have the fastest measured MPH of any receiver at the event when he clocked 24.17. The only person who ran faster, cornerback Maxwell Hairston, hit an MPH of 24.25 and a 40 of 4.28. Bond is a sub 4.3 athlete.
DT Alfred Collins
6-foot-6, 332, 34 5/8″ arm, 10″ hand

Comments: That’s not a great weight for an event where you want to be as lean as possible to ensure better explosiveness. He’ll need a big pro day.
Edge Barryn Sorrell
6-foot-3, 256, 32 1/4″ arm, 9 1/4″ hand

Comments: Outside of arm length and hand size, the combine was a massive win for Sorrell. Expect him to show better pass rush ability in the NFL in college due to playing a more ‘pin your ears back’ role. Those are great 3-cone and shuttle times.
S Andrew Mukuba
5-foot-11, 186, 30″ arm, 9″ hand

Comments: We knew he’d be on the smaller side for a safety but he ran a good 40. I wouldn’t be surprised if he moved back to nickel in the NFL. Texas fans know he has the coverage skills for it.

TE Gunnar Helm
6-foot-4, 241, 32 3/4″ arm, 9 7/8″ hand

Comments: That 40-yard dash is quite impressive when you factor for his sprained ankle. That’s a good shuttle at his size as well. Hopefully he can run the 40 again at pro day.
OT Cameron Williams
6-foot-6, 317, 34 1/2″, 11 3/8″
Did not participate in combine events.
Comments: Williams had his knee scoped after the season which is probably why he wasn’t active. That makes his weight loss that much more impressive. I would have loved to see what the newly svelte giant could have run the 40 in.
QB Quinn Ewers
6-foot-2, 214, 30 3/4″, 9 3/8″
Did not participate in combine events.
Comments: Ewers was the most impressive and consistent passer at the combine. In addition, he interviewed well. His stock is on the rise and will likely further improve after UT’s pro day.
RB Jaydon Blue
5-foot-9, 196, 29 7/8″ arm, 8 1/4″ hand

Comments: He’ll be viewed as a complementary back and receiving threat making his 40 time very important. 4.38 isn’t what he was hoping for but it’s still very fast.
C Jake Majors
6-foot-3, 306, 30 3/8″ arm, 9 7/8″ hand
Majors only participated in bench press, pushing 25 reps of 225 pounds. That’s a good effort.
Comments: Majors undoubtedly did well with the interview process but scouts will want to see him move around at pro day.
DT Vernon Broughton
6-foot-5, 311, 35″ arm, 9 1/4″ hand
Broughton is still recovering from an injured hip and did not participate in the combine events.
Comments: That’s a good weight and great arm length for someone who will be viewed as an inside-outside player. I wanted to see his agility numbers because VB is great off the ball.
OL Hayden Conner
6-foot-5, 314, 33 1/4″ arm, 9 5/8″ hand

Comment: Conner looked pretty good in drill work. Teams will undoubtedly wonder if he can play center. If so, that will boost his stock.
