Monday Mornings with Sean: Not panic time

AUSTIN — For the second week in a row, an upperclassmen had strong words for and about teammates.

For as much as Charlie Strong has lauded the freshmen and hailed some of them as energy bringers and leaders, junior safety Dylan Haines had a different set of opinions and spoke with clarity seemingly for a group of seniors…

Dylan Haines“Some younger guys don’t listen to the older guys that are junior and senior leaders. They’re going their own way.”

Dylan Haines“Some of the freshmen guys just want to go out there and just play. This is not HS where you don’t watch film and still win.”

Dylan Haines“We are doing extra work. The seniors decided it, and yes, we have some younger guys who are hesitant to do extra w/ extra time.”

Unfortunately this looks like it will create some divide if there was not already one. Immediately following the presser, instant responses came from young players taking offense to Haines’ statements on Twitter of all places.

Charles Omenihu and Armanti Foreman were two that hit the Twitter very quickly after the presser.

Strong talked about two team meetings where strong words were used. One after the charter got back from Dallas, and one on Sunday. That is usually where these types of grievances are addressed.
