Brevard, a product of Carmel (Ind.) started his career at Penn State and spent two years in Happy Valley before transferring to Purdue. His most prolific season was in 2024, when he tallied 19 tackles with 5.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks on his way to All-Big 10 honorable mention honors.
In 38 career games, Brevard has 38 tackles including 8.0 for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Brevard helps to add depth to a Texas defensive tackle room that desperately needs assistance. The Longhorns are losing all of Alfred Collins, Vernon Broughton, Bill Norton, and Jermayne Lole to graduation, while Jaray Bledsoe, Tia Savea, and Aaron Bryant have elected to enter the transfer portal.
As part of the Longhorns’ No. 1 ranked 2025 class, texas signed defensive tackles Justus Terry, Josiah Sharma, and Myron Charles. Terry is the nation’s No. 9 overall prospect, Charles ranks No. 96 in the country, and Sharma is the No. 158 overall prospect. Brevard, unlike that trio, as experience at the minimum along with Power Conference experience.
