Inside Texas has three questions for the Longhorn leaders who will be in Dallas this week.

Quinn Ewers

Are you ready for a Heisman campaign and all that comes with it?

Ewers currently has FanDuel’s third-best odds to win the Heisman at +1000, behind the +750 attached to Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel and Georgia’s Carson Beck. As a high-quality, third-year quarterback on a national championship-contending team, Ewers is going to have his name associated with the Heisman for as long as Texas is in the Playoff race.

Is that something he’s ready for? Being the starting quarterback at Texas is already a pressure-packed job. Being the starting quarterback at Texas, one year after winning the Big 12 and with Heisman level expectations, just ups the ante. Is Ewers, someone who typically puts on a calm, cool, and collected front, ready for the scrutiny associated with a quest for the Heisman?

Jahdae Barron

What brought you back?

Was it the opportunity to improve your draft stock? Was it the chance to wear No. 7, the number Michael Huff made into one associated with strong defensive back play at Texas? Was it the opportunity to play one more season in the burnt orange? Was it the chance to play with fellow Austinites in Michael Taaffe and Andrew Mukuba one more time?

Barron, as media savvy of a player as there is in the current environment, could answer these questions in a variety of ways.

Kelvin Banks

What do you expect to do in your last this season at Texas?

Banks is very unlikely to tip his hand on his future intentions as his focus is currently on his junior campaign. But one more season like his freshman year in 2022 and sophomore year in 2023, and Banks’ next step in his football career will be shaking Roger Goodell’s hand at the 2025 NFL Draft.

Does he want to give Texas repeat Outland Trophies? Is he looking to be a first-team All-American?

This could be a massive season for Banks, one that thrusts a Texas offensive lineman into the first round of the draft for the first time in over two decades.
