Steve Sarkisian: “We’re really this week trying to strain to finish. We’re trying to finish spring ball, but we’re trying to finish every rep.”

Sarkisian on his freshmen WRs: “These young guys, I feel for them in some capacity. These four guys came in, and they really didn’t have a lot of models to look at.” — “They’ve been having to learn in trial by fire. They’re getting such valuable reps right now. You can see the growth, but like a lot of young players it’s 2 steps forward, 1 step back.”

Sarkisian on Jonah Williams: “The guy is out there looking like Juan Soto right now.” — “He’s playing on some big time series right now, he’s got a great opportunity, and he’s maximizing.”

Sark says the team will practice Saturday with scrimmage portions and game like scenarios prior to fan day. — “We’re putting them in as many game like situations that we can to see the response.”

Sark on Texas’ QB development: “We’ve been fortunate to have a good one here the past few three with Quinn. Now we’ve got to recreate it here with Arch and then Trey and KJ. It’s all part of the process but I’m proud of Quinn. He’s worked really hard. Someone’s going to get a very good player.”

What does Steve Sarkisian think about speculation about moving Kelvin Banks to guard? — “Yeah, I don’t get it.” — “As it pertains to Kelvin Banks, as I’ve told everybody, I think this guy is a premier tackle in the NFL.” — “Whoever gets him is probably going to get a guy that’s probably going to play 10-12 years in the NFL.”

Steve Sarkisian said everyone has a few things to work on during spring. Accordingly, they continue to push Arch Manning from a leadership standpoint. They also are looking to see more from him as far as utilizing his athleticism within the confines of the offense.

Sark on Emmett Mosley, says he was high on Texas’ board ahead of his senior season. Mosley injured his knee ahead of his senior year, but Sark praised what he did to rehab and perform at Stanford. — “We’re excited about him.”

Steve Sarkisian says they were looking for an every down player at tight end in the portal. Believes they found one in Jack Endries: “When you really put the tape together over three years, he really fits all the things we ask a tight end to do.”

Steve Sarkisian mentions Brendan Schooler as a player he’s continually proud of because of his NFL exploits in spite of playing on poor Texas teams. — “I think that serves well for a lot of guys.” — “For Schooler to be on a second contract now and getting paid, it’s awesome.”
